From what I can gather from the video, it appears to only upshift?

From what I understand, the dogbox transmission has straight cut gears. Not recommended for a street car because you have to shift with extreme precision or you risk serious damage to your transmission. It is loud as well due to less flexibility/smoothness when engaging.

The only gears in a non-dogbox transmission that is straight cut is the reverse gear/syncro, which is why in some cars, you hear that whine when you reverse with a manual transmission. So imagine that whine sound for every gear = dogbox hahaa

It's one of these, very costly though (~$2000 for the shifter alone)
http://www.ikeya-f.co.jp/en/product_...n_shifter.html

You can put them on the stock trans and upshift with no clutch (enable no lift shift) but still have to clutch on downshift.
The more costly option is have a dog box put in with this kit and you'll almost have what rally car has.
Make no mistake though, this is just a sequential "shifter" kit, not even close to a true sequential "gearbox". Only race team can afford the gearbox.

Very curious how did he wire up that button to work though.

This is our fully bespoke racing system that is operated by our solid state Gearshift Control Unit featuring fully adjustable timed operation for:- Upshift/Downshift, Ignition Interrupt, Auto-Blip and Downshift Delay, this will allow fully adjustable timed “flat” upshifting and also offering seamless clutchless downshifting when integrated with our Auto-Blip Downshifter. Cut time starting from 20mS which we believe to be the fastest time like F1 or WRC, also if the vehicle is fitted with a high specification after market ignition then graduated ignition cuts may be available. The up-downshift “blipper” will push with up to 11-13kg of force. Nothing even close to this. Different time per gearbox speed, per boost, or per Kmh, and if combined with our new management system can be upshift automatically with rpm or up-downshift from our traction system strategy. Also came with our titanium paddles as u see as optional.

Next post our sequential gearbox.
