I just did mine and tell you what it's harder then I thought. I don't know if I did it right but I had to remove the right axle and my down pipe just to get the alternator out.

I did mine around 1 1/2 months ago, i bought a alternator from STM. The way me and my friend did it was going through the passenger wheel. took us around 1 hour and it was our first time, we also used a car lift :P But we really dident need to use it.

Just did mine, took the fuel rail off and the front strut bar and was able to squeeze it out the top by the passenger side motor mount and suspension mout area.

It's a mini project I'll tell you that. You need to remove the top bolt from up top and if you remove the axle you should be able to come out the bottom. Pulling the axle isn't that hard.

the evo service manual says to take it out from the top but you'll have to jack the engine up a bit to get it out. the only other option is to take the passenger axel and dp out, which is what i did.

by the way, popping the axel out is easier than it sounds. that harder part of this whole thing for me was the underbody panel. those dam plastic clips are a pain in the ****.

I did mine by taking off the intake mani. I already have the 2 main brackets removed, so removal of the intake mani is easy for me.

Most shops do it from beneath.
