Well guys, this is it now. Finally there will be no doubt in the Miata camp that the EVO can indeed be quicker and faster than the Miata (at least than a stock 1.6 )...... Never before, but now with a Voodoo knob?.... Well that was always the most trusted and most power producing mod that a Miata could have. Practically as good as a JR CIA (Jackson Racing cold air intake). More than one Miata driver proudly proclaimed that their Voodoo Knob equipped Miata would own any Porsche 911, Viper or even a Lambo or Maranello

Standard Aluminum Voodoo knob: 144 grams
Magnum Aluminum Voodoo knob: 173 grams
Standard Titanium Voodoo knob: 237 grams
Magnum Titanium Voodoo knob: 282 grams
As you can see, the titanium weighs almost twice as much as the aluminum. The shifts are much more smooth with the titanium. But the fitment is exactly the same.

Got my shift knob today. My Evo is still in the shop, so no driving impressions yet. Just from palming the shift knob and playing around with it, it has good heft. The magnum is a good size. Not too big, but not tiny either like the stock one. Damn Japanese and their tiny hands. My knob has a small blemish on it, but not a big deal. The pearl looks pretty good. Doesn't look like it will cause glare or get TOO hot or cold. Pics from my camera phone here:

Smanders, any word on whether or not you'll be able to get one with an engraved or laser-etched shift pattern on top?

Do you have any plans for a leather wrapped one?
I like the shape and size of my camaro's 6 speed shift knob. It's the PERFECT size for big hands and is leather wrapped.
smooth metal will get slippery in the heat. even the stock knob would be really hot if the sun was right on it. A big hunk of metal that hot would be a major issue for me on a Sunday afternoon.
Is anyone going to make a real shifter for the Evo? I've had tranny-mounted, solid shifters in the last two cars I've owned (both V-8 powered) and these shifters are awesome. They have adjustable stops so you can slam the gears and not bend shift forks. Excellent feel as well.
So uh, yeah, how about the leather wrapped?
