Cost per mile is right up there with the supposed benchmark, a lexus. Actually beats it @ .71 cents a mile vs the lexus, which is .72cents a mile. Total cash price (out the door) and total cost to own are right on with the lexus also. I consider that phenominal for a POS brand like mitsu and a very limited audience vehicle like the EVO.

STATUS : RANT ON!

who cares....... honestly.... does anyone really car about 1000-3000 of money deprciated....

i have 20k its a year and 12 days old..... i know happy belated b-day

but ya know what.... this has been the best 20k i've ever driven... the car before my previous car was muuuch faster... but i didnt enjoy driving it half as much as the evo...

if i traded it in for 20k right now after paying 32 otd i would not be mad, cause i got every penny worth...

and thats what you guys should be aiming to do.... to get your money's worth..

not the other way around.. anyone who can afford the payment, insurance, and maintnence should't be complaining around such little money 2-5+ years down the road when they trade it..

like these stupid ****ts who pay 400k for a car and drive 2 miles a week to get it washed then bring it back and put it in their show case... whats the point...

STATUS: RANT OFF!

lol cheers! if you get passed on I-95 by a rocket going over 100+ its me getting my moneys worth lol

doesn't really matter. Most people with Evo's are getting ripped because of the money they wasted on mods. Once you sell , regardless of the kbb your getting knocked a few $$$ due to your mods. Trust me I am one of them.

That's why you have to buy quality parts for your EVO. We've seen some EVO's sell for damn good money modified with our parts on them. Now, if you sink $40,000 extra into the car to run 8's.....you probably aren't going to get that back out of it

Don't buy junk, it costs you in the end.

You got that right!! A modified car is poison in the used car market. With very few exceptions, any perceptible modification will knock thousands off the resale value. Think about it, if you went out to buy a car, would you buy a modified car which was probably raced and abused or an unmolested clean model of the same car... Even if you use expensive, big brand names, you never get your money out of them.....
Also, everybody in these forums and others has read at least one or 2 horror stories of cars completely f**ked up while being modified. I know that happens from my own painful experience. I keep my MR in as close as stock condition as possible ... Still, the EVOs just don't hold the value compared with the cost of a new car... Sure, if you find a clean used EVO (unmolested) and get a good price, you will probably come out ahead in the end. Those of us who bought new EVOs will get hammered when trading or selling.....

The flip side to this:

2005 EVO 8 GSR
7,602 miles
100% perfect condition
Full mitsu service history
32k window sticker (came in the glove box)

I paid less than 24k for it 3 weeks ago. Original owner lost nearly $9,000 in 1 year. But then, this is the BEST time of the year to buy cars! WOOT WOOT!

This is good to know. I would of never guessed. About mods. I always keep my stock parts to put back in when Selling, and yes getting "Good" part make a Big different in the eye of buyers. Thats the image most peope have in thier Minds, "Name Brand Good stuff means well taken care of not Jacked up."

Now that's a good deal! You did very well and you will do well in the future. Your car will depreciate less for you than it did foe the previous owner....
