Winter solution for metallic shift knob?

Heh, I've driven 22 winters with a metal shift knob. Still don't understand what the problem is, if the knob is not used as a hand rest. I mean, it takes a fraction of a second to shift and it's not like the hand can really feel the cold during that period. Similarly, if it's cold enough for the knob to be frosted over, why aren't you guys wearing gloves to begin with? None of this make a whole lot of sense.

Get one of these. $20 shipped and the same material AMS uses for their shift knob. I swapped my metal knob with this for the winter and the difference is noticeable.
