AMS has discontinued cnc ported head

As i was shopping for head work, I contacted AMS for pricing, and unfortunately they no longer offer this service. I thought I'd share with the community.

True, but not all port work is created equal.
Honestly, depending on displacement and
cam set up, rpm etc...
There is no one size fits all imo

Buschur or Cosworth, depending on your preference (and budget).

As much as that sucks, there are countless others that offer the same....and most likely just as good.

My MAP stage 3 head came out fantastic. Look in my build thread for pics of it.

I HIGHLY recommend them for all of your porting needs

Unfortunately we have currently stopped production on the CNC program on the Evo 8 heads due to us seeing a casting error in the heads from the factory. There is a bubble in the casting by the guides that we have found can be opened up in the CNC process and allows coolant to flow past the guilds. It can't be seen and there is no way to test for this besides bolting it on the car and starting the engine. We have not seen this on all the Evo 8 heads, just on a couple that have come through here in the past year and unfortunately it is just to much of a liability for us to offer them. We don't want to offer an product to a customer that has a chance for error so at this time we are discontinuing production until a solid solution can be found.

Someone who is close with MAP, Buschur, and Headgames get them to comment on this...I'm curious to know if they've seen it also in some of their heads. I can see where this would be a big issue for shops
