Rear end bang

Hey guys gotta question im getting a loud bang in the rear it almost sounds like the rear or exhaust is banging off the floor when im hard shifting in every gear in high rpm... unless i let out the clutch and and lightly get back onto it please help!!! i dont want it to be somthing major

It's normal. Most people call it mustache bar clunk and there is such a thing as a mustache bar delete kit. I just put up with it. A simple search will bring up a few threads on it.

Also, this should be in the EVO subforum. This section is for the non EVO lancers. I know you're new, just trying to help with the learning.

I have herd that when you do the mustache bar delete, your back seat makes a lot of noise. both of my evo's i have had did the loud slam too.

I got the Torque Solutions rear diff bushings and seems to have fixed it, does have a whine. From what I have heard the 'stache delete will make more noise too

Hey I went with the energy suspension kit for the diff, and the torque solution driveshaft kit which made my car feel very solid

Yyes the mustache bar delete kit is notorious for being noisey. There's a thread somewhere that david buschur himself said he couldn't stand riding in the bad bish on the highway for extended periods of time. He suggested just getting bushings to help with the clunk unless the car was for all out race. The kit basically mounts the rear diff to the chasis so of course you can imagine what that will do with in cabin drivetrain noise.

^ yes, I have heard the same thing from a local who had the delete kit.

It certainly is scary at times. Every time I wonder if that is the launch that kills the rear diff.
