Engine damper

Hmm. Wasn't sure on the best engine torque damper?
Is the red one on Rex speed any good?
I just have a little trouble getting into second at high RPMS and hoping this will help =\

Forget the torque damper just get the blox front motor mount and call it a day. Add some underhood shifter bushings and shifter bushings too.

I would look into a mount kit.

If you still want a damper let me know. I have a used ingalls kit for sale 30.00 shipped. It doesn't look pretty but its cheap.

Agree with the posts above. I started out with the damper, the bracket ended up cracking as there is a trememdous amount of strain to put on the one little bracket.
Both of my cars use an aftermarket front motor mount, energy suspension rear diff bushings, shifter underhood bushings, shifter base bushings and driveshaft bushings. Makes for a great combo

what about vibration in the cabin at idle? Is the vibration worse than stock with the front motor mount only? I know it gets worse with more mounts. thanks

I have the Ingalls ETD, as well as an Agency Power front motor mount, shifter base bushings, and transmission shifter arm bushings. Rock solid without the vibration of a full motor mount kit.

First thing I did was shifter bushings all around, then the ETD. Even with the ETD only, I noticed much less engine movement. I must be one of the few who think ETD's actually work.

Then it sounds like you have a different problem. If you already have upgraded motor mounts, the damper wont do much for you.

Depends on the car. Mine for instance has some slight vibration in the steering wheel at idle. You can search and find more on this topic.

There's some noise but nothing major. You can hear more vibrations and even feel it if you rev it high but other then that, shifting felt better and so did taking off from a stop.

to be honest im running an ingalls torque dampener on mine, still stock engine mounts only cuz i havent replaced those yet. But have had mine on almost 30k, that with a better shift knob, ive noticed my shifting has gotten easier, no notchyness at all.

I honestly don't think I have a problem... Just is way more difficult to shift this car quickly and constantly at 7k+ RPMs than my stage 3 Cooper S.
