Fuel pump on last limb?
Whats up guys, just wanted to run this by you guys before i purchased a new fuel pump. i have a walbro 255 right now and i run on e85 ( yes i know i should have a double pumper lol but $$$) so ive been running with this fuel pump on e85 bout a year now. have had the fuel pump for about three. other day i went to drive my car ( evo not my dd) i started it and had the whining i sometimes get with this pump. and its constant now unlike before it would come and go. to make it short when i give my car boost say ounce i hit about 15-20 psi my car leans out bad 17++ but i can drive the car city not giving it alot of throttle and afrs are just peachy. so pretty sure my fuel pump is going out. already checked for leaks everywhere in my system and didnt see any... soooo im looking at this new pump made by cnt racing the 340 lph. has anyone here ran this fuel pump before? thinking about buying this one instead of the walbro cause it pumps 340lph insted of 255lph which my expand the life a little sense i know im pushing these pumps to max with e85. dont quite want a double pump incase i change back to gasoline. thanks for any feedback or information on this pump

Sounds like it's possible. I just swapped my old Walbro 255lph with a new mod'd Walbro 255lph. Mostly in part because when I retuned back in November, my tuner told me there was some inconsistancy in the fuel pump. But before he ever told me that, I realized the car was running rougher when cold (even rougher than normal for a car on E85 and SD in the winter) and having more fluxuation in the idle AFR than normal. I also noticed I was running leaner uptop at the same boost level I've been running almost all year. At 28psi, I was accustomed to 11.8-12.0 AFR's. After the issues started happening, I noticed a couple spikes in the 12.5-12.7 range. Needless to say, I avoided doing pulls until I replaced the pump. Now things are back to normal, 14.7-15.0 idle AFR's and 11.7-12.0 AFR's uptop at WOT.
I've also been told to change Walbro's every 20k-25k miles or every two years, especially on E85.
Hope that helps!

They do fine in most cases, they are just not intended for E85 nor hold hold any warranty when being used with E85. Mine held E85 for a full summer and ALOT of miles put on it until it started giving me issues. Then again, the Walbro was at least a year or two old when that happened.
We'll see how this pump does with E85 this year.
