Starter Only Engages When Car is on an Incline...

Hey guys,
My car doesn't stop giving me issues. I put a new starter in awhile back and it was fine. I replaced the clutch in the car when out in Indiana, and on my way home to Philadelphia, the car decided that it doesn't want to start all of the time. I then discovered that the only time the car will start is if it's on an incline. This makes no sense to me. I bench tested the starter and it was fine. I took apart the solenoid and put some white lithium grease on it to make sure the gear was engaging when it should.

For some reason, the starter will only engage when the car is on some sort of a hill. I put the car flat on the ground: no start. I jack the front of the car up, it starts right up.

I'm so baffled by the things that I've found done wrong on the car thus far I don't even have an inkling as to what could be causing this.

Lol Indeed that is me. It's nothing that he did. Jeremy's the man! I just think I need to shim my starter, as it just spins and doesn't contact the flywheel when on a flat surface.

did u replace just the clutch or the flywheel too? hows the bendix look on the starter? Check the ground and Pos wires too. when on flat ground does the bendix hit the flywheel and make a terrible noise?

clutch and flywheel he did the act streetlight so everything should be fine starter was new as of 2 months ago we had it all apart and cleaned everything looks copesthetic as of last night we found that there is a draw in his wiring causing inconsistent power to the starter as well as a broken negative battery connection which may be leading to weak charging, replaced battery today and we are looking into the draw previous owner wired the bat to the trunk and with the way all the other wiring has been its bound to be in that route
