evo 9 ecu immobilizer

I have a evo 9 MR with the stock ecu, I am planning on buying a used ecu to send it out to get tuned that way i have a stock one and a tuned one so i can swap them out when i need to. I heard that you can disable the immobilizer for the evo 8's ecu but I'm not sure about the 9's. Does anybody if I buy a used ecu that is out of a evo 9 that it would work in my evo 9 and if u would have to disable the immobilizer?

wouldn't a tactrix cable be a much more effective, beneficial solution? no reason to switch physical ecu's.

edit: also curious why you're sending the ecu out to get tuned when AMS is 5 miles away (based on your profile location)

If you disable it in the ECU code, it will start. The rom no longer looks for it. Most guys that do it are usually guys either having trouble with it or lost their keys.

But something I didn't think about till now is that if your gonna go thru the trouble of disabling it, might as well copy over your I.M. Code. Its the same amount of work.

I was gona get the vishnu ecu and they make you send out the stock one so that is why i was going to get a used ecu so i can keep my stock one stock and the used one would be the vishnu unless AMS can do something different because they are close. pretty much i dont want to do a lot to the car i have the ams turbo back and i was gona do an ecu just to get a little bit more power out of it and for the money i feel the vishnu is the best but not sure what you guys think
