what does it take to run e98?

what does it take to run e98?
Long story short, the semi-local place got rid of e85 but I found a shop that will sell me e98. I'm not new to ethanol, but would the stock ignition setup be up to par for this? I'm guessing running bpr7s as well?

DW 300 rewired pump, FIC 1350cc, fuelab afpr.
I know my fuel system will be up to it, but I'm wondering about the ignition system, as well as if e98 has the additives that gasoline or even e85 have for the lubricant for the fuel components. And is it safe to use if the e98 was made from methanol? I'm looking to mix it down to e85 but want to know where to start.

Uses more than E85 so make sure you fuel sys is up to it like others said. I'm running Buschur DP'er and 2150's with E98, although lately I've been cutting it to E90 so it starts better. Don't know what my IDC's are though, haven't seen a log in many moons

Thanks for the reply. What conversion did you use to see how much gas you needed to add to it in order for it to be e90? You adding 89 or 91? And is the e98 you use based from methanol, corn, or something else?

Pretty simple, just mix it to E85. Since it can and will vary from the pump, 1 gallon of 87 octane to 4 gallons of your E98 is close enough. Go 1.5/87 to 8.5/E98 if you want it even closer.

IIRC I think I added a little under 1 gal Chevron 92 E10 to 10 gal E98. I used this calculator cuz math hates me http://www.intercepteft.com/calc.html
Do you mind me asking how much you pay for your e98?

Here in cali, we are seeing about e90 at the pumps. I cannot imagine that e98 would be that much different. I would just run the e98 and call it done. Just check your AFR's to make sure they are still on point, and put some more timing in the car if it will take it.

E98 is nice. I would recommed running a tank of 92/93 through the car every 4-5 tanks just to keep the injectors happy. E98 can gum up the injectors quicker than E85. Also you will need more fuel to run E98 vise E85. The injectors you have should support up to 600whp on E98. I have not tested the 1350s w/ E98 so that is a guess. I would also have to jump out on a limb and say the DW300 won't be able to supply the fuel you will need. A single 300 on E85 is only good to 500-550whp. If you are wanting to run E98 I would throw a inline 255 to help support it. Also your ignition will be fine but it will be a batch to start in the morning if it is really cold fyi.
