03 BBY or 06 GG SE... opinions?

So, the time has come for me to get back in an Evo! I sorely miss those I owned years past and I've had enough of my Accord 6-speed I've had the last few years, ha! I've narrowed it down to the following:

OPTION #1:
'03 Blue by You with only a little over 8k miles (originally was sold on this one, but it's at a dealer that was ridiculous on price IMO)... I've been watching it for about a month, and they've come down in price a bit at just over $25k. I paid $27,200 back in '04 for my yellow '03, so that's a little hard to swallow... but I realize it's probably the lowest mileage '03 in existence right now??? It's in perfect condition, I'm told. I love the color, but if it were yellow, I'd have probably already bought the car. Oh, and it's completely stock.

OPTION #2:
'06 Graphite Gray SE with almost 37k miles listed just over $25k, also. This one just came on the market, and I better jump as I know it's going to go fast. In the pics, it looks immaculate as you'd expect from the miles.... one owner car. I traded my '03 in on a WW '06 MR back in '06 but GG was my second choice as yellow & blue were sadly unavailable. I actually didn't care as much for the MR as my old '03, and my one regret was trading her!!! I'm fine with a 5-speed vs 6- and loved the MR seats and wheels (except to clean: ha!), so the SE is probably the best of both for my tastes. This car is stock as far as I know... I haven't called, as it's the weekend and it just went up a few days ago for sale. It's at an import dealer.

I'm so torn, and if the blue '03 weren't 70 miles farther away than the GG '06, I'd check them both out first. But, I really need to decide which way I'm going. The '03 features I prefer best are the roof, color, and miles. But, the '06 has fog lights & a better-looking front end and a slightly nicer interior (I never really minded the blue interior on the '03's), not to mention it's 3 years newer in age!

Ok, ok, you're all probably laughing at my cosmetic preferences, but I'm a girl, lol! Both cars have the handling and power I'm looking for, and I'm not going to mod it out or anything. I am a mommy afterall, and I've always said the Evo is the ultimate family car.

P.S. I also had an EB '08 X, and it was the dumbest car purchase I've probably ever made.... Too much money on something I didnt' love. I'm a hater of the new Evo's, which makes me very said; as my new car will probably be my last Evo and I'm going to run it forever!

Although Im a bit biased to the 06, for an 03 with 8k miles on it I would probably take the couple hour ride to check it out, especially if you are just going to keep it stock.

I'd go for the Se for sure. While the miles are higher, the MIVEC is well worth the compromise.

You can't lost with either one. Buy and enjoy!

I would also go for the SE. An 03 with only 8k miles, that throws up a red flag right away. It is possible to have that low mileage but something sounds fishy.

The SE has so many upsides. Mivec, IX front bumper, red stitching seats and much more. It is 3 years newer and will hold its value better. Go for the SE!!!

You're saving 29k miles for about the same price. You can always swap out the seats and front bumper in the 03. It's all about if you want low mileage or not. 8k seems like it has had modifications done to it, then put back to stock. There must be something done to the engine internally. Could be a good or bad thing.

You could always get a car fax report on the BBY, to verify mileage!!!

That's really pricey for an 03 even with those miles. I bought my 03 BBY in August of 09 with 17,000 miles on it and in perfect condition for $17,500. Have you talked to the dealer about the car and tried to negotiate to a more realistic price?

I dont own a evo yet but I personally would reccomend the se. It may have higher mileage but its still an 06 so it still low mileage for the year and it will hold value better being as there were less 9s made. If something was to ever happen and you needed cash right away you could get rid of the 9 for more money and faster

Yes, the low miles on the '03 worries me a little.... If they are legit (pretty sure at this point), what kind of issues might I run into? I mean, the car's only averaged 1k/year! So, it's basically sat most of its life.....
