Is this evo 8 worth it?

Nothing wrong with high mileage Evo's. As long as it all checks out.
For all of you saying the caris worth $7-9 good luck.
I've been watching junkyard prices and was bidding on a running evo with all four doors crushed in for just running gear. I bid $4K, the car sold for $7K!,
And now I notice that the 8/9 body style are going up in the secondary market.
I've been looking for them as I have a lot of people who want them.
If you can find a close to stock one that's in good condition for close to $11k or 12. I would get it. Just make sure you do a compression test and a test drive for abnormal noises.
I just sold my 2003 red evo 8 with 98k for $14k,but I did all service with tbelt,wp,and all fluids
BTW: I still have my original trans, transfer case, and rear diff. Maintenance in key

IMO, that's not a crazy price. My evo has half the miles BUT is also a lot more money, if you spend 11k or less on an Evolution, your simply getting garbage. Just because a vehicle has 118k miles does NOT mean it's worthless in any way. Aspecially with such high maintenence required to keep it running for that long, the Tcase was probably already replaced, the rear end was probably done already and maybe the clutch is fairly new too, we don't know. As for the motor, if the original owner ran stock boost all those miles, it's probably fine too. All depends on what's been replaced and how hard the motor was pushed. One cigarette burn on the back seats shouldn't sway anyone away from getting in an EVO for $12k. What do you expect for that price. If the major components are solid, I'd say go for it. EVOSCAN it! And listen carefully when test driving

Very true also, look at the Toyota Supra and how much those sell for now. The same thing will happen with the evo. First body style in the US and also the most popular. As they get wrecked and beaten to hell, the value goes up because the car is in such high demand and there are less and less out there. Personally I see the price of an 03 in 5 years being a lot more than they cost now.

This guy needs to go back to his 240sx 7-9k for an evo that's running with no body damage. That's simply ridiculous. They sell TOTALLED with major body damage for that much. Check your numbers kid, your way off. Nobody in their right mind will sell a good running evo for under 10k, even if it has 150k miles.

On top of what everyone else was saying, see if they would allow a compression test. If the previous owner was increasing boost (just a theory), god knows what tune he is running or if he had one at all.

The car seems to be in good shape but it might be costly to you if it didnt have the proper maintenance done like 60k maintenance and the car has definitely been modded by what ive seen in the pics. Id definitely try n get the price down alil if your really thinking of purchasing it. Good luck man!
