Quest for 200k+ miles...
ive been following our evom user "4RETECH" thread and want to add another evo to the list as far as high mileage goes.
So here's a little run down of my car, its a 2003 GSR, I purchased the car 6 months ago local from the original owner 100% stock with 184k. Since then Ive been taking care of normal maintenance before modding it.
The bads I can really say i ever had about the car since ive owned it is, when I purchased the car it had 5th gear vibration while cruising, so first thing I bought was a new evo 9 Shep trans w/ ultimate gear ratio along with ACT extreme 6 puck kit w/ fidanza flywheel. The other things were faded wing, and faded brembo calipers which I took care of.
The motor's never been taken apart internally other than adding arp L19 headstuds and 280 cams so the bottom end is 100% stock with 190k miles as we speak.
This past november, took the car to the track for the first time, ran 12.3 @ 111mph with stock 8 turbo at stock boost, ETS FMIC, turboback exhaust, & shep trans
Some of the mods that ive done are, Shep trans, Torque front mount, custom gt3582r kit w/ billet housing, buschur racing short route UICP w/ tial BOV, (custom fabricated battery tray to utilize factory battery to clear UICP) ETS FMIC, PTE 1000cc, Aeromotive 340lph fuel pump, MIL.SPEC throttle body seals, hks 280 cams, ARP L19
As of today I am waiting for speed density kit to come in so I can make an appointment to get tuned and hit the track again.
This thread is to show our evo community that these cars do last if maintained the proper way. Stay tuned for dyno #'s and updates
All comments welcome

That's sick, makes me feel like theres hope for me haha
Just picked up an 03 8 with 137k from the original owner. Has a couple of mods and a good tune and the only problems I have are the same ones you listed- faded brembos and wing. And my 5th gear grinds a bit.
Evos are incredible. Treat them right and they'll return the favor.

That's awesome! I sometimes wonder where I'd be if I never traded my '03.... Because with the miles I've driven since then, the car would have at least 175k right now.... probably closer to 200k maybe?!
