I knocked out 600awhp in my evo pump gas even a little more.
2.3L fully built, AMS 1000hp fuel system , injectors, PTE 6765, 29.5 psi.

Not easy to keep a car running at 600awhp daily

It was cool to keep up with a guy on a ZR1 on some back roads, but i miss just blowing thru a corner in 2nd gear at full throttle. So fun freeway car but not so much on a mountain road. Im scared to build boost in a corner, it will just get sideways and in to a ditch.

the hta86 aka HTA3586R by fp is probably the quickest spooling / power packing turbo there is for the evo to date.. as long as you get it or something similar in design with proper hotside parts you should be ok..
The 6262 are laggy compared to the hta86 even in .63 AR because the compressor wheel is bigger.. however the 6262 seems to make more on lower octane easier also though.
If you want fast response and power on low oct you chose the wrong platform car.. these are only little 2L~ displacement engines and if you want peak hp you have to sacrifice low end or vice versa.
Personally if i was trying to do what you just said id go with a 2.3-2.4 and hta86 and run it at .82 ar so it is still responsive.
AMS designs custom hotside turbo kits also with .63 AR and their kits spool very fast and still give good top end.. theres lots of options to choose from. take your time and do research or do what you're doing here by asking forum
my opinion.
