oh man that is sick. i dont know how he got his to fully show, he did say he dremeled the board. based on the schematics of the board those should be ok to cut because they are to power the lights for the doors, seat belt, etc. IF i am correct. good luck.
i think yours isnt centered right.

I have been wanting to this install as well for years, so I will just ask a question. In the pics of the link of "What you want" he has it flush with the top grey outer piece, meaning that lighter grey was trimmed off in between the gauge and outer top surface. My question is basically can you put something behind the gauge to push it forward to make it flush and able to see it entirely?

well after looking at it for awhile today i decided i had more cutting to do in the main part of the cluster to make it even and sit flush and also to center it more.
i painted mine flat black and also decided to leave mine with depth instead of making it flush i dont want it sticking out i kinda want a more oem look i can now see all the led's just need to figure out how to run the wires thru the back there is zero room the aem gauge is thick.

I would say all you need is a small dremel and a hot glue gun and a air compressor to blow all the crap out. the cutting part is easy the back of the cluster is where it gets tricky the aem gauge is alot thicker then others.
