Is it just Cali that puts OBD2 cars on rollers as well? In Washington/Oregon, all OBD2 cars have a diagnostic check done through the OBD port. No rollers or sniffer involved - that's for OBD1 & older vehicles.

As for the ACD disengaging the rear wheels when u raise the e-brake - that just added one more thing on my list of reasons why I secretly lust for a IX (still love my VIII..!)

hand brake turns are no big deal, unfortunatley, the stock hand brakes themselves are not particularly robust so, on my car at least, they won't readily lock the wheels.

that's why some people upgrade the hand brake:

On loose gravel or snow the stock brake is fine.

Gives a nice "clunk" sound when the clutch disengages. Thought I broke the first time I tried it.

You can do damage to transfer case by running a 2005 to 2006 Evo in two wheel drive mode. If that wasn't the case, then why would anybody need an all-wheel-drive Dyno to tune an Evo?

Normally most vehicles which have an active center diff will open the clutches when the parking brake is applied to prevent damaged... it has nothing to do with being a rally car, I find it humorous sometimes how many ppl pull the rally card out about these vehicles when in reality the differences between your OEM vehicle and a $300k evo rally car are very different.

The reason why you can't 2wd dyno a evo is because it would have to continuously hold the clutches open the entire time, something that the durability of the pump would not be able to do, in addition the vehicle was never made to do something like this so the heat would be pretty intense.... This system is much different than say a Haldex VW R32 system which you can dyno in 2wd as its an electronic controller closing the clutches to transmit power, these systems are normally 2wd until FR wheel slip is indicated to activate the RR diff.... This is the difference between all time AWD and AWD.... there are other systems as well but that is the general scope.

How would you run it in 2 wheel drive mode?

I did not know about the parking brake thing on the evo 9's tho, thats pretty cool

What I'm saying is you cannot run any Evo on just the front wheels. At the minimum, you will burn your ACD clutch packs to the ground.

I have pulled my ebrake while driving and you can hear the acd disengage (don't care to hear your opinion). 50k on my car no problems.

But my question is, can I do some sick nasty FWD burnouts !?!?!?!?!?!?

To the OP , I'm sure you're fine man
