How important is the undertray?

evo8426 & barneyb,
Thanks for your reply.
Unfortunately, I unable to source the Beatrush Panel.
No where I could find with ready stock...
Really looking forward to replace mine...

It serves a good purpose for those that are picky like myself. I have a custom one, but its all the same. It keeps the engine bay more clean, increased aerodynamics, mine is easier to take off then the stock one, it will catch most of drips and leaks if you have any, I dropped a zip tie once and took off the panel and it was on the tray so it is a good lost parts finder and it looks cool when the car is on a lift.

its a giant warehouse you can walk into, just wear closed toe shoes. they have a lot of overstock stuff in bins or you can order stuff in any size you want in any shape of length.

The under tray is definitely important. It helps direct airflow to the transmission and center diff while keeping debris out of the engine.
I have read posts on here describing how something the OP hit sheared off the oil filter and his motor was toast before he stopped on the side of the road.
To each his own I guess. I replaced my stock under tray with a beatrush unit a couple of years ago. The beatrush tray helps improve the stock air flow. Even at highway speeds I can feel the difference in a cross wind. The front end is more stable.
I recently had to replace the front lip on my Evo. after all the years of auto crossing, I had broken all of the mounts on the right side.
The replacement lip didn't fit all that well and I had to fabricate a spacer to match it up with my under tray.
