Evo VI is a blanket term for that whole generation of evos.
GSR is the regular street trim evo. RS is the evo with non essentials removed, power windows, expensive seats, airbags etc. RS was intended for race car builders to buy and not have to pay for a whole lot of parts that they weren't going to keep anyway. RS2 is an RS with a few features from the GSR added, sort of midway between the two models.
Do you have manual or electric windows? If you have manual windows you have an RS.
If you have electric, do you have TD05RA-15GK2 or TD05HRA-16G6 turbo? (Turbo will have a stamp on it).
The 15G is from the GSR, the 16G is the RS2.

You are correct, I thought that all evos were 16G (excluding GTA variants), I'm afraid I fell to an unreliable source.
I have put an edit in my post to correct.
OT: Just finished replacing my driveline fluids with Motul products. (I remember reading you use them). Dam that competition gear fluid is thick!

Also worth noting that the speed limiter is only used in 5th gear.
When i had mine on I'd get the ****s because 5th gear was effectively useless. Every time i changed into 5th the limiter would cut in straight away.

Speed cut defender is hardware (like a boost controller or turbo timer), you wire it in and you're good. You should be able to delete the speed cut in the ecu by raising to it an impossible level, ie 500kmh. It's part of your tune, you can get the cable and software and do it yourself or you can take it to a tuner and pay them to do it. You might even be able to get a tuner to sort it out through email, but you will still need the cable and software.
I think you need a 2.0 cable for EVO 6 (check that on evoscan.com) and you will need ecuflash and maybe evoscan to pull the rom.
