Front driver side wheel noise?
Hey guys,
Just looking for some ideas as to what my issue might be. I recently installed some Fortune Auto 500 Series Coilovers and my car started making this weird tapping sound. It's coming from the front driver side wheel and it only makes the noise when rolling at 1-3mph. To describe the noise, it sounds like a metallic type thunking and sounds off at every full rotation of the wheel. There is no sound when driving at normal to high speeds and will only start when I start rolling from a complete stop. I cant find anything loose that would be rattling around and cannot recreate the noise by pushing/bouncing the car by hand, it only does it at a 1-3mph roll. Had a buddy at a shop smooth down the brake pad and rotor to just make sure it wasn't the brake pad, I took the rotor backing plate off to make sure that was vibrating against the rotor and there isn't any play in the wheel when lifted. I know a few people have had similar issues and like I said I'm looking for some ideas.
Thanks,
Jon
P.S.
The sound is not specific to turning, it won't make it if I turn the wheels while driving or parked. It only doesn't when driving straight from a stop.
