Tommi Makinen Evo AYC light on... Jap Import!
New to Evom, and first time owner of a TME evo, so check it out...
The car is sick. Just bought it from the Netherlands from "japimports".
But when the clutch was replaced, the "AYC" light has come on and i'm not sure how to diagnose the problem.
When carrying speed into turns, the car's front feels a bit soft, and tends to squat, then oversteer.
Any help would be great as the owner's manual is all in japanese...
also,
the car is on a UK registration, and the year of the TME says 2003?
i wasn't aware that they produced the 6.5 in that year...
the car has power folding mirrors, sun roof, heated driver's seat, and so much more.
it was tuned at 1.3 bar and pulls great...
just not sure what to do about the AYC light...
any suggestions?
thanks and cheers

never heard of a TME that had a heated drivers seat and I used to own one?? how many ks on it? it may need to be serviced.. I changed my clutches a few times myself and never had an AYC light come one... maybe a connector for it was not put back on??

it has just over 60 thousand K...
and above the gear shift are 2 little black buttons.
it shows in the owners manual that these are for the heated driver's seat.
although it is in japanese, the picture shows the wiring under the seat for the heater,
and sure enough, it's there...
it doesn't really heat up alot, but it is noticible.
Have you heard of a 2003 TME though?
and can the AYC be turned on and off?
thanks

I have not heard of a 2003 TME nor one with heated seating.. (not to say there isnt??) Unfortunately you cannot turn off the AYC... well you can by unplugging it but that would handle like crap, basically making the rear an open diff... Wish I never had it to be fair.. If I could have a do over I would have wanted an RS version everytime... loved my III RS...
