fuel pump priming?!

ok so a guy on here asked me to prime my fuel pump to see if my problem can get resolved. Problem is I dont know how to do this. Can anyone explain how to? This is what he wrote to me ...Cycle your key to the ONII position. You should hear the fuel pump priming. (pressurizing the fuel lines for a quick start up) It makes a humming sort of noise. Do this test a few times. To make sure it primes

wheres the onii position? and how do i cycle any help?

Turn the key to the On Position (One "click" before start.) This is when you'll hear the fuel pump. Then turn the key off. Then turn to the On Position again, then off again. Doing this between 3-5 times is cycling.Hope this helps

No, your fuel pressure should stay close to to the same. If your losing pressure each start and having to prime it each time, you either have a bad FPR or have a leak at the fuel pump somewhere that is bleeding off pressure.

Is this a new problem after a fuel pump install or some other change?

I am losing pressure each time, and I was thinking about that fuel problem. I'm looking into soon getting a walbro fuel pump. You think it can solve this issue?

Depends if the stock one is bleeding off. Or if your FPR is leaking off it will do the same too. Its hard to tell with out checking. I would start by testing the FPR as its easy to get to. Test with a vac. gauge first on the line, then get a FPR Tester to check the output. I dont know where you would connect it tho, as I dont think the evos have a inspection port unless you have an aftermarket rail. Maybe somebody else can jump in here and answer that part.

If that checks out, I would pull the fuel pump and make sure the connections are good and tight at the housing and where the pump connects to the housing its self.

If you plan on upgrading to a wally anyways I would do it after checking the FPR anyways. Dont want to just throw parts at it with out it begin fixed. It could compound your problem.

Sorry to hijack this thread, but I'm having a similar problem.
After installing the walbro 400 hardwired to battery and Aeromotive AFPR, my fuel pressure drains off over a couple hours and takes me about 5 goes to start the car.
Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Aussie IX, solved it only by making this and connected to ECU harness. It's priming fuel pump for 2-3 seconds when turning key to ON.
