2 stage boost controller, opinions?

I used to run a turboXS 2-stage boost controller (basically 2 manual BCs with a solenoid to switch) on my 1G dsm and i loved it. Alot better than the greddy profec-b i currently use on my S14.

I would like to use one of these on my daily VII, the benifits are obvious but i havnt looked into this style of BC in many years.

What is on the market these days that is similar to this and does anyone run these.

opinions...

With something like this in the Evo, it would make sense to use 2 different maps that you could switch between in addition to running a boost controller like that.

I'm sure there are people who do it both with and without the maps... but I would think that it's more of a pain in the ***?

Silly question... why are you inquiring? Are you looking for a street map and a track map? Or better economy? Or what exactly?

Also... welcome.

Just for fuel economy and to keep wear on the car down as well.
I would like to run gate pressure and then have it bump to my tuned pressure. How does the ECU controlled boost solenoid work for people. I havnt had much experiance with ecuflash. how customizable is it as compared to an AEM or DSMlink (on either end of the spectrum)

No need in turning the boost down, just don't floor the car. It will get the same gas mileage no matter what boost you set it to if you drive like a sane person.

For ecuflash you really need to read it and read it again, there is a huge amount of information on it and can not be summarized

i got a low setting around 16psi for daily driving then 23psi for playing around! so lower helps u save gas even if u happen to get on it on low boost

It doesn't work like that

On normal driving hitting slight boost it never goes past 10psi, the only time you hit full boost is when you floor it.

Where's the fun in that? Just don't floor it and save the time and effort

I get the same mileage at 28psi as I did at 20psi with the same driving style.
