TurboColtGT, does your name happen to be Jamie? if it is, I find it very strange that a technician wants to talk to me and try to race me with their turbo mirage or whatever else they own, that should be crossing some boundry lines there, And as for my "friend" saying im drag racing I assume you mean Ernie which if you are I'm sure he tells you that "I drag race all the time" and that "I drive the **** out of the car" how about you get some nice hard proof instead of stating Hear say. As for Chevy/BMW warranty claims, i'm going by what i've been told by a technician that works on chevys thats very close to me, he told me he's had corvettes come in with a engine thats seized up and they replaced it under warranty due to it being under 10k miles, NO CAR should need a new engine, clutch, tranmission, transfer case etc. before 10k miles it's bull**** and we all know it.

Anyways yes I did have a aftermarket clutch put in by the dealership and once something else went wrong on the car they claim that I was warned it would and that it would void the entire warranty on the car which is bull**** I was never told it would before I bought the clutch, pressure plate, flywheel and throw out bearing. It's bull**** that I will probably end up having to pay for a transfer case and transmission on a brand new ****ing car.

"as for his car thats between him and MMSA and for speaking as his car in general im not going to get in between it."
You don't want to get in between it? you shouldn't have come on here posting any information about my car or anyone elses car thats at the dealership you work for. That should also be crossing another boundry line there.

Hey, it's possible that the driver abused the car beyond it's intended use (for the EVO that would seem to be very spirited driving ) but it's not fair to say that just installing an aftermarket clutch automatically causes tranny damage and voids the warranty..... What gives? If that's the case, a ton of guys here in this forum are **** out of luck You really think that all these highly touted and widely respected (and very highly priced!) brands of clutches cause transmission damage? Hello?

Can you scan that and post it? That's so far off scale it's going to take seeing it in print to remotely begin to believe it. No manufacturer says "we'll warranty it and you go on and race it and abuse it all you want but only the first 15000 miles now, you hear?". It sounds like you filled your pipe once too many. If it's actually in the Evo manual then I'll issue a retraction and apology.

I dont think the warranty should or could be "void" b/c of replacing a wear part (clutch) but if they can prove its abuse to the car then a diff story. turbocoltgt-- --me and jay could not werk out a deal on the red evo sooo pls take good care of my evo.

You had to know that once you install an aftermarket clutch it would void your warranty. How come everytime someone breaks there tranny or diff, they start crying about warranty. I work for Mitsu, have broken my transfer case. Have had to pay out of my pocket to fix it. I didn't try and get it warrantied and I had a stock clutch in my car.

I'd like to see that 15,000 mile claim as well. Now, when I was getting my car, they did say something about a 12,000 miles "adjustment" period, but I'm not quite sure what that meant. I would assume like alignment, doors creaking or stuff like that. The clutch shouldn't even be an issue at 15,000 miles. I had a 2002 Se-R SpecV before this car w/40k on it and the clutch never hiccupped once.

So your saying that it doesn't void my entire warranty but the dealership i've been dealing with seems to think it voids the entire warranty on the car. Either way I still think its a crock of ****, a transmission and transfer case aren't supposed to go out on a car with 10k miles on it.

powertrain warrany only is the way that works. so if you radio quits air bag light comes on blinker valve goes bad it would be covered.as for the engine i am not sure of.

Actually, I was told to call you because Ernie told me you wanted to talk to me about my car. I figured it would have been something halfway important not some bull**** about you wanting to race me, it's still not right for a tech to want to talk to someone who's car is at their dealership and yet still want to race me when its broken. It doesn't even matter anymore, once I get this fixed i'm selling it or trading it in for a car thats not in the shop atleast once a week for something stupid. I'd rather be driving around a ****ing cavalier then a evo that breaks every week. I'm done with Elkin's and their ****ty customer service, I'm done with Mitsubishi and any car they make. What does Ernie being a dumbass and blowing a toilet up at SEARS have anything to do with this? Also when have you ever seen me drive my car? I've been to SEARS once to see ernie and travis and I'd love to hear how I put my car through hell in a ****ing parking lot. What did you see me launch my car 20 feet to come to a dead stop? or did you see me burning out in a all wheel drive car? or maybe you saw me doing some donuts in the SEARS parking lot too? I'd love to hear you explain how my driving is in a little parking lot jackass. 90% of these people agree that this is bull**** and they know this car doesn't have a clutch that can handle the power or ability of the car.

well there is nice strip of road connected to sears parking lot we all have raced on. me ernie, travis all of us have ran our cars out their.
the whole i am trying to get across is admit that drag raced it and now you deny it. regardless we all know you did it.
what pisses dealerships off is the fact that people like you tear up their cars and want the company to pay for it. you go ahead and live in your dream world where everything revolves around you.
