Question Advantages of putting an Aftermarket 13 Row Oil Cooler?? (Evo VI)

what are the advantages of putting an Aftermarket 13 Row Oil Cooler?? im currently running a 7 row oil cooler.. will i be gaining any performance increases?

Only if you have oil temp issues for what ever you maybe doing (ie racing)... otherwise.. there is really no benefit....

For example, there is no benefit to have a radiator rated for twice what you need.

All cooling products are there to keep the fluids within the operation temperatures.. too hot, not good, too cold, not good.... there is some threasholds in there of course.

how to find out the oil temp? cus @ the moment i dont have a oil Temp Gauge,,,, how bad it can get when its too hot...?

Only way to find out the temp is to use an oil temp gauge.

Like what GTijoejoe said, no reason to change it if you are only driving it on the road or even light race use like drag racing or simple track days.

Worst case if the oil got to hot is that it would break down and not lubricate properly, but you'll have to be going pretty hard and long for that to happen.

What use is your car being driven under?

I don't think it will gain any performance but it will cool off your oil faster. If you aren't putting out a crazy amount of power or doing like 2 hour stints around a circuit at full throttle, I don't think you'll notice anything going to 13 row cooler.

its for DD, & currently im having a 7row cooler... hope that's enough for now.. thanks.,.
