Seibon CW-style carbon fiber hood

I have a question.. On this style of the hood.. WHY do they have a vent on the left side (passenger side). Well you know where the intake is.. why not vent it over there.. why on the other side of the hood.

http://seiboncarbon.com/store/produc...l#!prettyPhoto

I am looking to buy this hood... If anyone could direct me to a website that sells this CHEAPER or if someone is trying to sell theirs please let me know.

Actually... i dont recall what the hood was.. i think it was Varis but there was on that was cheaper and that KINDA looked like this and was vented on the other side.. Anyone know what kind of hood that was?

Its a mirror effect. When they made the replica from the original the intake snorkel was on the driver's side where it supposed to be. However, when the hood was put in a mold the negative mold ended up with the snorkel on the passenger side.

The scoop being there looks like it would direct a nice cool breeze into your exhaust manifold.

The Seibon CW is a replica of the Gialla hood. I dont why the vent is onn that side either but, it looks good. I'm sure it has some function. I would pm the vendors here and get quotes. Im sure they can get a better price.

Carbonrevo, a vendor here also sells Gialla style

I'm pretty sure it's Varis that makes them with the vent on the driver's side but I've had a hard time finding one anywhere.

Monster Sport makes one with the vent where the intake goes, looks almost similar.

Also the Vis hood is super filmsy.........
I have vis hood and CF fenders with a Seibon trunk and you can CLEARLY see the quality of the Seibon trunk over the Front end VIS parts

Wow thank you guys for the info.. iv been looking to buy the Seibon hood for a long time and now finally going for it. But i was just curious on the question... But NOW that i look at the Gialla Style.. i wouldnt mind that either.. I may need to contact the vendors on here to get the price details.

What would be better Gialla or Seibon in the same style im asking for? Any input would help.

it's to get more air flow to the manifold, and probably help push it out through the top...So it's more for cooling, than for intake purposes obviously. I have the gialla, great hood and is definitely lighter than stock
