There's two hoses that go from EGR system to the throttle body. It is not uncommon for one of these hoses to pop off during boost.

+1 to this.

Pros are not having exhaust gasses introduced back into the intake, couple things go hand in hand with that, lower egt's, better combustion, ect.

Cons are that it's illegal to remove it, then again it's also illegal to remove the cat, change you 02 or do most other mods.

The EGR system has ZERO effect on cold starting as it only opens while the car is moving/under load, also I've never experienced a MPG loss by removing the EGR from any of my vehicles, had the exact opposite happen actually.

Get rid of it. It removes a lot of junk off the car. Less failure points. Reduced inlet temps.

Definitely could be the reason why. We did a boost leak on my car yesterday and one of those hoses was not connected to anything. Car was all sluggish and felt like it had no power Connected it and the car feels much better even with my throttle body seals leaking.

Rip that crap out along with evap. I've never had a problem with mpg or cold starts with egr being removed. Less hoses = less chances for boost leaks
