Hi guys I'm having a problem with my evo 8 sometimes when I go to start it it cranks and turns on but then just shuts off like if its flooded or something it would start for a quick 3 seconds rev up to idle and then shut off I don't have the hood cover so when it rains water gets in I thought it might be that the harness or a sensor got wet or I have remote start maybe it can be the remote start is killing my altenator my car is an 03 evo 8 and I haven't changed the altenator..still have the stock ignition system..or could it be a fuel problem I only put sunoco 93

 

sounds like a Issue with the immobilizer, will it start up again after it shuts off? or do you have to turn it all the way off for it to start up again?

 

Once it starts it idles real quick no more then 3 seconds started and then just dies out then I would have to crank it over again and again until I give it a few minutes and I try it again and then it just works like normal..spark plugs are new..still have stock plugs tho

 

It could be that something is screwy with the remote start so I'd suggest disconnecting it to see if the problem goes away.
