1) Handling. I driver everywhere now because the handling is so great. We never take my wife’s car.
2) Power. Not earth moving, but nice.
3) Seats. Three hundred mile trips leave your butt feeling refreshed and ready to go.
4) Sunroof. I just like sunroofs.
Would change:
1) Padding on the arm rests or lower them a little. My arms are just the right length to have my elbow land on them all the time.
2) I would like the nicer stereo that’s going into the 2004s. I liked the Infinity system that was in my Eclipse.
3) Adjust the location of the gauge pod. I’m tall enough that the steering wheel blocks most all of the speedo and the top half of the tach, including red line.
4) Add a useable boost gauge to the unused cutout in the gauge pod.
That’s the short list. Mine’s blue and I love the color. The car is just way fun to drive. Other cars may have more power or nicer standard equipment in the passenger cabin, but this thing just makes me grin everyday. It enhances my quality of life.
Best wishes,
f86sabre

my only problem is with the material they used for the seats and interior is just too flimsy...i understand why they used it being so light, but my interior is getting thrashed at 12k.

You guys can solve your radio problems with a quick trip to Best Buy. I have a Sony CD/MP3 player and I haven't looked back.

My only beef with my Evo: 2nd MotherF*cking gear! I hate the fact that I am limited in shift speed by the fact that my tranny doesnt engage 2nd gear if I shift "too fast"! Had I known of this issue, I might have reconsidered....maybe not(lol) but still, it is a MAJOR drawback and everytime it happens, I get really pissed off all over again. Everything else is great, the car smokes everything and is tons of fun to screw around in but if anyone from Mitsu is reading this, FIX THE F*CKING TRANNY.....PLEASE!
Also: the turning radius sucks, theres no excuse for a car this size to require so much space to "bust a *****"!

first of all, as an engineer can i say something to defend the large turn radius; when you lock, even viscously, all wheels together then turn hard at low speed...you are putting incredible stress on everything from the tires, to the axles to DOJ's and CVJ's (universal joints). you should drive my toyota 4x4 in dry conditions! would you want to replace them every 15k??? and as far as the 2nd-3rd, or 1st-2nd it seems that the ratios where designed to flow...the drivetrain/flywheel deserves at least a quarter second to equalize...and if you wait until the top of the powerband to shift, it should slide in like butter, mine does!
'hope you can find that sweet spot!

No cruise control for when I am forced to make a 6+ hour interstate trip.

Everything about the way she drives.
I haven't regretted buying my EVO for a second, would buy one again without hesitation.
