Pour your coolant/water mix into the radiator and top it off. Close your radiator cap. fill your overflow to full mark. start up vehicle and keep the overflow cap open, to make it easier. let vehicle warm up fully. turn on defrost, rev to 1300-1500rpms or so and watch your coolant levels on the overflow. keeping revving until your defrost comes out hot and let idle a few minutes after that just to make sure all air pockets are burped out. shut off defroster. check fluid level in overflow and correct as necessary. grab your upper radiator hose--carefully! squeeze it to feel if its flowing through there. If it is great your about done. Go drive it around the block and when you park it check your levels to make sure its all good. Let it cool down. Once it cools it may suck coolant in, no big deal, just top off the overflow as needed. There are other ways to do it, but this is how I perform all my coolant services.

this is what i did but....

i just cut up a funnel and made this work,

only thing is, when the bubbles came out the coolant never went back down into the radiator? is that normal? there was no big burp but a good amount of bubbles but there was like a liter or coolant still in the funnel???? i thought it would go back down im confused!!!!

and BTW THANX FOR THE HELPFUL COMMENTS!!! sometimes people make dumb remarks, but thanx for helping!!! just let me know if this normal!

To be honest I'm looking for the exact same answers you are right now as I'm trying to figure out why my upper radiator hose stays pressurized overnight lol.

Its ok if there is a little extra fluid in the funnel. So long as you made sure its all bled properly. Better to have a little extra than to not have enough. If you followed my procedure or any of the others posted above then your set. My way you wont have to empty out the funnel because your using the overflow tank, thats the only difference, either way works.

If there is still fluid in the funnel thats better because you can be sure that there are no air bubbles left in the system. As nirvancol's link shows, that funnel comes with a plunger to seal the bottom when your done so there's no mess when you take the funnel off.

I don't know about others here but it usually takes me 15 minutes or more after it's warmed up to burp the system. Picture someone just standing there with a jug of coolant and the hood popped concentrating on the coolant level for 15 minutes or more haha.
