I wouldn't mind, but dammit, I voted for the Evo.

Of course several people voted to drive the McLaren F1...it is a technological showcase of what a pure sports car is all about!! The engineering that went into that car is amazing.
In all seriousness, I bet that comment that 'I wouldn't mind,' driving a McLaren F1 would sure change if there was one offered to you. You would have to be nuts not to!!
Guys and gals, I really think the Evolution is a great performance car. I bought one!! But it is nowhere near the same as a Lamborghini Miura or Mercedes 300SL Gullwing in terms of being absolute icon of motoring history. Most of the cars on that list represent certain levels of achievement beyond most other cars. While the Evo is a very capable and high benchmark automobile, to honestly sit back and say it is up there with the McLaren F1 is just insane.

The Evo is on there because of it's legacy. 8 versions (I think? I don't think they skipped numbers), what other car, Japanese or not has that? I would say the STi is also worthy of that list, but it is of course not as tried and true.
What about Ferrari Enzo?

What a bunch of tools on that Forbes message board... at least mclarenf1forlife knows what he is talking about. Who knew that there was actually a person that isn't a paper-racing fool who bases cars on their base price and horsepower numbers on that Forbes board

The king of rally racing, the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution--automotive star of Universal's 2003 street-racing film 2 Fast 2 Furious--is the new face of enthusiast driving. A spartan interior and industrial-looking steering wheel keep the focus on the road--any kind of road, that is, because the Evo's four-wheel-drive system and 271-horsepower engine are designed to go anywhere, and sideways. On a rainy day, it will beat an M3. And even on some good days, it can beat a stock 911. The Subaru WRX STi has more horsepower, but the Evo is the object of a deep love from rally fans--many of whom drive the vehicle in videogames.
Start the battle, folks....
