4 years too late, but i have the same issue and tried everything.
replaced shocks, replaced ball joints/tie rods with whiteline bump steer kit, replaced control arms and bushings, replaced sway bar end links. Nothing fixed it.
It rattles and knocks even moving 1mph going over tiny rocks on the road... constant low rattle on the highway. Feels like its right under the clutch pedal.

Knocking in front evo 7
Hi
Im having similar issues. I keep throwing parts at it and the knock still hasnt gone away. It mainly occurs at low speed but also around tight corners above 30kmh. Any bump will make the knock/tick noise from the front. Its not a continuous knock/click it comes and goes depending on the pavement im driving on and if i move the steering wheel with a little force.
Below is what i have replaced.
suspension - adjustable OZ racing coil overs
sway bar D bushes front and rear - nolathane
front/rear lower arm bushes
Whiteline roll center tie rod kit
whiteline steering rack mount KCA387
adjustable whiteline sway bar end links front and rear
steering rack has just been completely rebuilt by a specialist
checked the tightness of top hat bolts on springs
Rechecked all sub frame bolts
I dont think it will be the CV or a wheel bearing because the knock/tap/clicking noise only comes when i turn in or go into a drive way.
could it be something in the body? Steering column seems fine. Im running out of ideas.
Cheers

UPDATE:
Think i have answered my own question.
After a quick drive around after re assembly. Noticed the double clunk clunk i was experiencing is only doing it once now. Perhaps i had 2 knocks in 2 different areas. One being the steering rack internal bush and one being the Whiteline sway bar end link. Also found this thread about Whiteline sway bar end links coming loose. Sure enough ny passengers side was loose. You can tighten them up well and proper with Nordlock washers.
Once i obtain some nordlock washers I will know. If i fail ill be back here posting about it still knocking.

An easy way to diagnose the sway bar end links would be to disconnect them and go for a test drive. I did exactly that and my clicking clunking noise is still there...... are there any other suggestions to what it could be? Im a bit stumped now

Strut mounting hardware upper & lower (loose). Internal strut damage? Wheel bearing check?
If the noise was rotational i would have suggested the front disc brake dust shield rubbing the rotor (had that one before)
These unknown noises drive us mad. I understand what youre going through

Thanks its no good. But when we figure the issues out its one the best feelings.
Do you know any tricks to diagnosing faulty struts. I could swap sides and see the sound shifts. These struts have only done 20,000kms since brand new. All mounting bolts and nuts are tight too. I also tried putting rubber rings over the coils to help isolate them. I wonder if the coil needs to be spun. I will be trying anything i can think of

Its pointing towards the coil overs. Even though they are new doesnt mean they havent failed. Will look to get them stripped and assessed.

Knocking in front evo 7 Gone!
UPDATE:
After pulling the car completely apart and refreshing everything in sight i came across the culprits were the bolts in the middle of the strut brace where it mounts to the fire wall, they were loose. Something so simple made the most absurd noise. I couldnt be happier driving it now.
