Seting up AEM AFR to match AemPro [Aem Ems v1] my issue..
Issue with Matching AEM Wideband Afr's to match AEMPro Afr's...
ill get right to it... i have an AEM Ems 1313 (version 1)
AEM Afr wideband. Just purchased a new sensor, and new sensor wiring harness. Ran new power, new ground, and new wire extension from gauge to aem ems (white wire 5volts for afr readout).
I go into aem pro, i goto the o2 sensor wizard, pick Aem Gauge, i disconnect the sensor from aem afr gauge, gauge reads 14.8, i set the "gain" option in aempro to read o2 volts @ 2.32(-/+ 0.02) [gaiin @ 0.95], afr in aempro 14.7.
I turn key ignition off, connect aem afr gauge, start the car, and the aem afr and the aempro read off by about 2 whole points. So aem gauge shows example 14.7, and the aempro will show 16.xx:1
Its driving me nuts, cause i've set it up before, on my car with no issues, but now can't set it up for the life of me. The only thing i can do is bring the "gain" option way down to about "0.65" so the afr's match aem gauge and aempro. But isn't that the wrong way?
Doing some tuning, and don't want to be sending tuner untrue logged afr's.
Any suggestions? Only thing left to change would be the aem gauge (which seems to be fine, or the aem gauge power harness (4pin).
any help appreciated

already done some reading and research, but havent found anything just yet.

Verify that the "fuel type" is not changing. My Talon was doing this changing to methanol for some reason when I was running regular pump gas and the gauge would not match AEM even after changing the O2 gain every single time. The culprit was the laptop I was using which sounds crazy. It was working before but then for some reason it was changing the fuel type to methanol every time or it was not allowing the AEM to accept the change. I used another laptop and problem solved! It saved the fuel type and I adjusted the O2 gain to match and never had to worry about it again. Might not be your exact problem but it doesn't hurt to check.

Im about to go buy another gauge and run 2 afr gauges to see which one reads what lol.. yea sounds kinda dumb, but i have no idea what to trust, and i dont want a tune thats off of numbers that arent right.
I'll test the o2, and ill keep this page posted, in case anyone else ever has this issue.

Make sure that you have your AEM WB grouned to the same ground point as your ECU. After that you will need to adjust your O2 Gain on your AEM EMS.
If that does not solve your problem you might want to go direct solder to the back of the gauge. All of the wires. Ditch the white plugs and solder the wire directly to the pins at the back of the gauge.
On my galant, because I unpluged and plugged in my gauge so many times I found that the plugs did not connect as well as they did when new, once I went direct solder a lot of my strange afr issues went away. I had that gue for 4 years. I am now on the new failsafe gauge that they have, and they now use really nice plugs.
Hope that helps.

afr's stil don't match up... err
i might try that direct soder the wires to the back of the gauge. and i don't have my aem afr gauge on the same ground as ecu, but that shouldn't make a difference, since it use to work just fine.
but the connection possibly not getting full contact at the back of the gauge could be the issue.
today i touched the back of the gauge (aem afr), and the wires seemed pretty damn hot. wonder if its bad connection causing this. I have the power coming from ignition so that shouldnt be an issue.
ill keep this updated.

update...
Wired up new wires and new pin connectors to the afr, so no more arcing and cables don't get hot. AFR's are still messed up on the gauge itself now, even more then before, so i drove to buddies dealership, tested the battery and "Replace battery" shows lol. So battery is toast, and im pretty sure that the cause for my afr issue's.
Gonna order a braille battery, and ill report what happens when i receive it and install.

Issue Solved, it was a bad battery. After changing connectors, pins, wires for the gauge, it was all because of a bad cell in the battery, doh!
Thanks for the help everyone.
