car was knocking so i downed the boost , ok fixed..... can do wot pulls in every gear np, but when i revv matched yesterday on the highway it flashed. i bet if i rev in nuetral again it would not do it, is this phantom knock i dont get why the car would knock in nuetral and not under load. should i tighten everything up under the hood ? bc i dont think its real knock. i dont log either so i cant see how many counts but the light flashed fast doing some research i think its phantom knock any thoughts ideas is it a major problem?, i can boost till redline with no knocks. i also think its fake because ive revved high in neutral before and never seen a light

you need to log the car and find out if its real knock, but if its in neutral then it could be just plain ol noise being picked up by the sensor or there could be pre-ignition of fuel. The engine is not at its best efficiency when idling. Its better down the road to get a cable and the software to log your car, looking at the light can just be a head ache and you will always wonder, why? Just like you are right now.

 

but pretty much if it dosent knock when doing gear pulls and it does in neutral its basically phantom knock and is not really a problem?? i do have an exhaust heat sheild with a bolt missing and a few things that can trigger it possibly. i just dont think it makes sense that it would be knocking. the pre-existing flashing cel was completly fixed by lowering my boost some pounds now i never see it during pulls.

If you put in race gas and if it still does knock then it is most likely phantom.

A flash blinking cel just means that you are above a certain knock count. The default setting with Tephra mods is a fast blinking cel if at 8 or more knock count.

 

Yea idk im just going to forget about it it dosent do it when i pull anymore so what else can i ask for ? Ill try tightening some stuff up under the car already did some in the engine bay
