Goodridge, for both. Its not the sort of night and day difference as you would see from TBE or something, but swapping the lines does get rid of some of the petal slop under HARD braking/clutching.

Goodridge for brake lines, STM for clutch line. Both will make the car safer and more consistent around the track once the heat is on. If you're thinking about it, just do it. It's a cheap mod for peace of mind.

Nobody's got a gun to your head. If you have the extra money, I would just do it over the weekend for fun. The stock evo lines are more than good just in case you were wondering.

Have done both clutch Line and Brake Lines.

They aren't mods you'll notice much if any difference from. The braided lines however will last longer and theoretically give you more consistent/repeatable brake and clutch feel. Which is something that will likely only come into play at your local autocross/HPDE/Track etc...

IMO, pointless mods. If anything, SS lines fail more often than factory lines do. Smike and I both learned that the hard way...

Now this is a bummer to hear. I assume that this happened during track events? What kind of failure was it? I'm legitimately curious.

What would be a good interval to change them? I have had my SS lines on for about 5 years and just had the front passenger side blow out yesterday. Thank God it was just on a side road and not the freeway!

@Kracka would you just recommend oem to replace these on my evo8 or pick up some Techna-Fit Brake Lines?

I've had Techna-Fit Brake lines on my car for 10k miles, no issues. I did it the same time I did Girodisc 2 piece rotors, EBC blue stuff pads & fresh fluid. When I do my 5 spd swap I will be installing an STM Full clutch line...
