sorry i wasnt sure how to search for a part that i didnt know the name of,

anyway been having some problems and was looking around, and this part ripped off while i was checking all the connectors, it was pretty much hanging by a thread, i barely pulld it and the whole thing ripped, not at the connector clip but that actual plastic.

looking for help on what this is, and how important it is

thanks

No check engine light? Does the car start? Only thing that are right behind the oil cap are. Crank position sensor, o2 sensor, ignition for coil packs. Is that piece your holding triangular?

Has anyone had this problem before that has a ix
I ordered a new one already but hen I tried to remove the
Broken one it won't come out, I think it's just the 1 bolt.
Is there more then that or is it maybe open inside the motor
And that's why it's stuck. Not pulling it hard enough?

I know it's a little late, but I broke mine also, wondering where you got a replacement from.

I had similar thing happen to me, it's in fact MIVEC Controller, these things are expensive but you can source them from marketplace here for $50-100 as oppose to what dealer wants $400+.

You need to remove that one bolt, I believe it's a 10mm and just pull it out hard, it's kept snug there by an o-ring.

I queried the dealer on this part, and it was very expensive, so I started looking on forums here, just look for MIVEC valve controller and you may find someone selling it, otherwise what I also did prior to finding a seller here selling it cheap was calling few shops around and I believe "Buschur Racing" had one that he was willing to sell it to me for a lot cheaper than Dealer, so give them a call.
