Hood vent and car washes...
Has anyone try to wash their car before giving it enough time
to cool off????
I did... and steam start to come off the vent as I try to rinse off
the dirt on the hood...
Upon opening the hood, I found water on the exhaust manifold
cover, exhaust manifold and some probaby drip down to the
turbo... How are these parts' resistance to deform or crack under
such major temperature changes (ie. cold water on hot metal)??
Just wondering..

i've gone through twice already, but i always turn the motor off.
im still using the stock airbox. im not sure if i should install my rmr intake or keep my k&n stock box.
the rmr intake would probably would be drenched.

oh yeah, also i've driven in rain and let it get rained on.
i recently also had lots of snow in the vents and i just warmed up the car and all that melted. i couldn't brush it off.
but whats this thing with the wing getting damaged in the auto carwashes?

Here's my engine bay after the car wash... the intake snorkel is
pretty much soaked with water... there were more water on the
header (exhaust manifold) and heat shield too... some probably
dripped down to the turbo (but they were dried off b/c I drove
the car into the garage to take pictures...)
