Carbotech Bobcat noise poll

This will NOT be a ***** thread. There's already one of those. This poll is to find out what those of you who are experiencing noise with these pads have had done to your rotors (if anything).

Theory: The STi uses the *exact* same pad. I don't mean the same material, I mean the STi pad we sell is an Evo pad that has been ground down to 14mm thick. We have had zero calls from STi owners, zero negative feedback from dealers, and no negative threads on Nasioc.com. There's got to be a reason. Their rotors are a little thicker than the Evo rotors. So, if a thinner rotor is contibuting to the cause of the noise, turning them could make the situation worse. I know a bunch of EVO owners were comlaining about brake shudder with stock pads and had the dealer turn them.

This poll is for ONLY those who are experiencing noise.

Thank you
Matt

I had them turned once to prep for the new pads per Carbotech's recommendation. I had some noise for a few weeks last fall, several months after they were originally installed. I'm not sure what caused that, but it's gone now. And I do not have any shims installed...

Forget it. Cityhugo's commentary on page 8 in the other thread is the absolute last straw. There will be no refund, no exchange, no nothing. I am not wasting another second of my time on this issue. The pads are off the market.

Moderators, feel free to lock this one down.

Doesn't look good for any vendor of anything to let a hand full of *******s run him out of business... you don't fore sake the many do to the words of a few. That shows very weak character... I'd like to think your angry right now, and are going to come back and apologize to the multitudes of good customers you have. There are many, many people here from the Type R boards... some who are only using your product because it not only works, but the support your showed the people there. Matt, what are you doing? ?

Matt,
Please don't let the under educated get to you. You're the only pad expert on the board. BTW, save a set up Panther Plus because I'll need a set in the Spring.
The Mustang guys love you (track junkies that is), Integra guys love you and Subie guys love the product. That should mean something.
