Worth or not, 05 EVO 30K miles, 15k...

I would have to agree with some of the previous posts... Sounds like he's hiding something because the tranny should def NOT be grinding with such low miles on it. If you are really considering it, take it to a Mitsubishi shop and have an inspection done. If he tries to talk you out of doing it, he's definitely hiding something! You want to make sure it will pass state inspect anyway. We just purchased an 08 Evo X for $28k and it had 18k miles on it. Ran like a charm! Got a 4 year extended warranty at the dealership and the only thing that has needed to be done was replace the seals on the tranny. Guess it was just sitting in a garage most of the time. After that was done, it seems like a new car again. If you're seeing that many problems and the history is questionable, I would recommend to keep looking. There are soooo many choices out there. There was a 2010 Evo X for sale in PA for $26k that had a full custom paint job of a dragon breathing fire. Was fully loaded and only had 15k miles on it! Had the dealer not given us a hard time about paying out of state taxes through a 3rd party, we'd be rockin' the dragon mobile right now...

yea i was merely giving a rough estimate. After all is said and done Brian, you might very well spend about that $2500 to get the car back in 100% running condition.

I'd definitely get in inspected by a good racing shop or a reputable dealer with good service. I'd get an inspection on any used car, even if purchased from a dealer. I learned this the hard way once and know friends who also ended up buying a car with problems that were covered up.
If it's just the tranny and body damage, you're probably good.
This car isn't exactly the cheapest to maintain and premium fuel/synthetic oil changes don't help either, so be prepared. I mean it's not like a M3 or a Porsche, but it adds up. The Evo is a great bang for the buck.
