Worth or not, 05 EVO 30K miles, 15k...
I recently found a evo, i believe is a 05 model, the guy s ask for like 15k for it.
It has a clean title, but the owner said it was in a accident, his friend crashed it into bush. As far as I know, the passenger side fender, mirror, and side skirt were damaged, cuz the owner are replacing them, maybe the front bumper, cuz it s missing the lip right now. And one rims was bend, but he has already has a new set of rims go with it.
The car has 30k miles on it, but the owner said the 3th and 5th gear are grind, so it probably will need a trany rebuilt.
I am pretty interested in this car, but I am not very familliar with evos.
My first question is, is thia a good deal?
second, how could I fix the trany? how much would it cost me?
Thanks for your time, and hopping you guys can help me out.
Any input is appreciated.

30k and the tranny is in that condition ! And the other problems ? Idk. I spent 21 on my 05 with 70k. And it has 88k now and its still in PRISTINE condition mechanically with 300whp/300lbs/tq. Seems like this car was not taken care of.

Mhmm. tranny rebuild?
I would fully test this car before jumping into anything. If 3rd and 5th are grinding, the guy more than likely ripped on it.
That means youll spend 15, plus tranny, and anything else the car might need. Not looking good

I'd stay away from that for sure..anyone with half a brain wouldn't sell a 30k mile evo for 15k unless he is hiding something, believes something costly is going to break soon due to blatant abuse, or is going bankrupt..I guess the latter could be the case but by the description I highly doubt that is the reason.
You can call TRE or ShepTrans to get an idea of what the transmission (of your choice) will cost you..but unless buying at that price will leave you with several thousand dollars left over (to fix the multitude of issues that could arise in the ensuing months) I'd stay away from it. Honestly even if you do have the extra cash, I'd stay away from it and just put that money towards a properly maintained car. Just my .02

I know, 30k miles for 15k is pretty low.... I might calling some friends today to see how much would it be to rebuild the trany...
