make it story short. My car went 180 while i was turning probably an black ice or some **** i did punch it a little and i didnt even expect that i almost hit the curb pissed off. -with rear left tire. funny part starts: i got cop on my *** he pulled me over and said wth was that. i said i left the gas station my car went sideways and thats all. he said dont bull**** me and i dont buy it.! you probably were racing the other car well thats what happend. he is like okayyyy - so i got ticket for improper lane change!! WTF - well **** that. i go online and take some classes i dont care - my brother is saying Go to court and fight it) or i can mail out $75, but i dont want this **** to go on my record.

well- becarefull on SALT and Wet streets - in this time of a year its really sleepery- i dont want to see any more evo's crashed.
iam not saying people dont how to drive - just be really carefull - and dont speed in conditions like that or turn....its stupid not worth it.

yo, i know how u feel though bro, i spun out last winter but i was racing did a 900 hit a curb front of the car went air born and then another 180, bent my stock little rim and axel, hell of a pain in the ***.

My little ordeal cost me 800$... so 75 aint to bad

Same thing happened to me but I got a ticket for failure to control. I was about to get another ticket for failure to control my foot from going up the officers ***.

 

Cops can be real dicks sometimes. I remember a few years ago a friend of mine just bought one of those turbo SAAB's. It was his first turbo FWD car (he had BMW's before) so he didn't really know the car very well. We made a left at an intersection and the turbo came on and he spun the inside wheel for a split second.

Next thing we know, he's getting stopped by a cop. He was accused of street racing! The cop threatened to impound the car, etc. My buddy tried to explain the situation, but the cop wasn't hearing it. In the end he got a ticket for "display of speed." We were shocked. This was just a little chirp from the inside wheel...obviously an accident. Like I said, cops can be dicks sometimes.

Those front drive cars with the turbos put out a high pitched "chirp" and squeel when they break traction...

You could do it from a rolling start in an Aero 9/5...no problem.

Combo of torque steer, tires as well as a blast of turbo power..

VERY easy to do if you aren't familiar with a SAAB..

Too bad for your buddy..and an uncool cop to boot..

Honestly though, and I hate to be on the side of the cop, but if you pulled a 180 in an awd car, you just might have been driving too quickly. Now Im not saying you were racing, but just looking at the physics of it, the car had to have enough energy to spin, and if you were proceeding slowly the car would have slid to a stop before turning completely around.

Im not trying to talk crap about your driving, because we have all made worse mistakes than that. Im just pointing this out because if you go and fight this in court, this is what they are going to tell you. Honestly Id say pay the fine and do the online classes or whatever they offer, and that will probably be your best bet.

True RacingMyLancer, but lets not forget the velocity causing a body to keep traveling along its path. The faster the car was going into the turn, the more force that had to be translated into a new direction.

Exactly! That's why were were so shocked. This was just a little inside wheelspin from taking the corner a little too tight and not compensating for the turbo lag (a little too much throttle).

I've test-driven a Mazdaspeed Protege and that thing would spin it's inside tire like crazy. Even easier with the SAAB. The cop was just being a dick.
