o2 dump

I have a evo 8 about to install an Fp Red into my car. I have the stock o2 housing and of course want to upgade. My question is whats better to go with, just a aftermarket o2 housing or an o2 external wastedump? i dont really know what the o2 dump is for and if it helps.

This is the set up so far for the Red turbo. let me know what else i should get or change.

Ets IC
injen full piping (going to change to Ets)
Full turbo back
255 fuil pump
1000cc injectors
stock manifold (not sure which to replace with)
hallman boost control

an thats all i got for now.
my performance goal right now is to get street power on a stock block.

let me know what you guys think.

The O2 dump will give you the most power with the only side effect being noise, only at full throttle though,i have Muse O2 dump on my 2.4LR and love it,the noise it's really not all that bad, specially when you consider the power benefits it offers.I say get it

I'm glad I came upon this thread, as I have a few questions.

A friend of mine told me that if I ran an o2 dump, that my car would run rich, even with a tune, because of the o2 sensors reading only partial exhaust. Is this true?
Another concern I have is fitment, I heard that some cannot clear their LICP.
And lastly, can you still run an uncut undertray with the o2 dump?

I have the muse dump and its awesome, the sound and fitment is perfect and its about 1/2" away from the licp. You car runs rich from factory but it wont affect anything, alot of people are runing them without any issues.

It is a misconception that the o2 will read wrong, the vent is on the wastegate dump tube on it's own tube or section and won't open until you hit the desired boost level so until that point the o2 is not exposed to any ambient air, given you have a fully divided gasket,my Muse clears my ETS pipe can't tell on others though,if you want to keep the undertray you would have to put a hole in it for the gasses to come out since the outlet aims straight down.

Yep. I recently just installed a muse on my car. The sound is very nice and the power gains are better than those from a housing. You definitely will not regret it.
