Should I do an oil Change before autocross?
I've got about 2300 miles on the current oil but going to do autocross this weekend, should I do a fresh oil change? I run Mobil 1.

I will say yes just for the fact that even though the oil has plenty of miles left on it, fresh oil always makes the car run better. It has better viscosity, parts move freely less wear and tear then on used oil on bearings etc specially with high rpms and alot of heat that your motor will see being on and off the gas.

I personally would change it. Just peace of mind and seems like the responsible thing to do. Definitely change it afterwards if anything.

I say no. The difference in your oils ability to do its job will not be that different at this mileage(unless youve driven the car very hard during this period). Lots of studies have shown modern synthetics do no better job at 2000 vs 3000 miles. Take it as my opinion though

I say take a look at the oil.
I changed my oil before a track day, ran it pretty hard and checked it at the end of the day and the oil was still tan.
If you're paranoid and have money to throw around or like to pamper your car, go for it.
It's your money at the end of the day.
