Never seen this before on any car. What could have cause this?




Right before it tore out I could hear a high pitch noise over 2800RPM, that sounded like the belt was slipping. A couple hours later the noise changed and it was tore out.

I thought the tensioner whas the culprit and changed it along a new belt. No change. At idle I still can hear a random chirp.

All accessories turn freely by hand. The alternator is the - much - heavier one. The crank pulley is a Fluidampr one.

 

Def seen a belt do that, not on an Evo though. I once got a belt that was a smidge too big and squeaked took me forever to figure it out
