Driving Your Evo In The Winter
#33
Thats half the reason i bought mine, for the awd in winter. As long as you wash it once a week or every two weeks youll be fine. My dad has been a body tech for years he says as long as i wash it before it gets warm your good. I going to make Sure i rubberize under the car and such before winter though.
What does everyone think of all season tires? Will they get by for dd in winter?

The whole reason I bought my Evo was because of the AWD. It gets nasty up here and I need it.
As long as you wash the under carriage and give the Evo a nice warm washdown every 1-2 weeks during inclement weather, you should be fine.
I go up the mountain and go snowboarding with my Evo...... Shooooooooooooooooot son!

I have no problem with driving mine in the winter. I give it a full undercarriage wash every week. Twice a week if it snows and they're salting the roads. These cars are a blast in the snow, especially with snow tires.

I got my car from IL and it was a DD and still is 140k going strong. It does have some rock chips and baby little rust spots but this is by far the best car for going up and down the mountain and having some fun in the snow. I do recommend making a rear undertray to prevent snow build up...

I drag out the garden hose to the driveway where it will drain to the street, attach a whirligig lawn sprinkler, stick it under the car and turn it on. I move the car a couple of times while it is running. The main thing is to rinse the salt off, so while the water is running I go watch TV.
