Which is a overall better cam?

Just wanted to get others peoples opinion about which cams are better overall gsc s2's or kelfords? Looking to upgrade from my hks 272's. I have read about people saying 30 whp when upgrading from the hks to kelfords or gsc's but is this really true?

You will hear great things about both. I have S2's and I love them.

What about the cosworth 272's? Almost an identical grind compared to the Kelfords.

i cant link you to any sources, but i thought at release the s2's and kelford 272's were about the same. sometime later gsc updated the s2 grind to be a bit better, hence a SLIGHT advantage over the kelfords.

when i purchased cams the kelford's were cheaper and in stock, so that was my choice. either way you can't go wrong.

both are good but the s2 can be had much cheaper.. if you are in the market for either pm me. ill beat any price you can find.

it is true you will see about 30whp more over the hks 272. the hks cams are very mild.

Looks like you're already phishing the envelope, a BBK-b vs a standard BBK...Go for the S2's. With their beehive springs you will have a nice nice setup.

I had HKS 280s and went to the kelfords, not a crazy difference but the idle was a little smoother on te kelfords...I was then going to go S2's but never got to(rolled the car). I did putS2s in another car and they were boss!

Do you have any beadwork done? Might want to consider going all out and going through it for max efficiency.

i have s2's love them but hate how loud they are at idle... cant drive, have to creep around neighborhoods when leaving late at night :-/

other than that, they are boss.

no I don't have any headwork, and still stock block just some arp head studs. thanks for the advise guys. I will most likely be swapping out my cams for sure.

I have kelford 272's no complaints, but i think the GSC's are a little easier to make idle better and tune (this coming from Fathouse who has tuned both on numerous setups) I've also just noticed it with seeing evo's with both sets of cams in them. My next set of cams will most likely be S3's.
