stiff gas pedal after fixing throttle body seals?

hey guys after spending some time on replacing my throttle body shaft seals i finally went for a test drive. i placed my foot on the gas and it was a little stiff at first but once i applied some pressure it went down. This only happens when the car is on so im guessing its do to the vacuum on the throttle plate. any ideas how to fix this please help
thank u
-chris

Sounds as though the cable is catching or rubbing on something? Is it nice and tight?

Did you grease the seals before installing them?

not really, here is an example, car is off- gas pedal moves freely and so does the throttle body, cars on- gas pedal feels like something is holding it back for about half an inch until i push more and it feels normal. so the problem only occurs when the car is on and when i first apply pressure to the gas pedal. and the car revs to 3000 rpms when i first start it also

you twisted the spring too much or its not hooked on the right spot. (over sprung)

You must remove the TB to fix.

good luck

nevermind my previous post then. this is very odd. Best to just remove it and start over

Do u have a picture of what the spring should look like when it's on properly? Besides the pictures from the write up. Also would it matter that it only happens when the cars running?

Do u mean even remoig the new deals again?, and I'm not sure if I have them both facing the correct way. Does the copper part of the seals face inward towards the tb or outward

dont remove the seals. just remove the TB. see if you messed something up on the re-install.

You should be able to turn the shaft with your hand easily all the way, and the spring should snap back. Take it off and evaluate
