Since we both have the same insurance it doesn't really matter, either way the same company will be paying for the damages. I still have to go to court to determine who is at fault, OH JOY!!

The reason the damage is to the passenger front is because I tried to swerve at the last second, but since my brakes locked up (stupid RS with no ABS lol) I was unable to completely avoid the car in the middle of the road. It's a good thing though, because there was a bus coming the other way when it happened...car would have definitely been totaled then lol.

I didn't want them to total it out, then the car would have a branded title. I don't want to go through the hassle of having the car inspected and all that garbage.

Also what a shame... I too have an '04 RR RS with 98k miles on it. :\ But hey, as long as you get the car back and it's restored, no problem.
Parts are cheaper than I thought, so if my insurance company ever sends me a check I might start putting it back together..

Insurance is just cutting me a check, not a shop. So I would have the ability to buy any parts that I want for the car with the $ if I fix it myself.

No, not crumpled. There was no frame damage at all. The upper radiator support was barely even touched.

Damn, sorry to see that..35k miles on an 04 is extremely hard to come by.. The RS keeps getting more and more rare, good for some people I guess but sucks for us.

They probably quoted you on replacement parts and not OEM parts. I'd make sure it was for an aluminum hood and fender and OEM control arm and oil cooler.

Only part that wasn't OEM was a "reconditioned front bumper" which was only $40 less than a new one lol. New hood was quoted at over $1200 for just the part.

Lol I haven't made up my mind.. I'm trying to work with my insurance company, it's just taking incredibly long. I have been working out a payment with them, but they keep trying to lower the amount they will be giving me..annoying

Is it a huge difference? Thousands or few hundred? If its few hundred then maybe it's not worth the argument. Think bout it..ur getting cash from them and cash for car..practically kind of like just flat out selling it lol

I got a nice empty space in my garage that needs a new car in it..lets get it done! Tell them to hurry the F up
