Perrin vs. B&M
I'm in the market for a short shifter but don't know which one to get. The B&M is 50 bucks cheaper than the Perrin but which one is a shorter throw? Is the Perrin worth the extra $50? I just wanted some input from you guys

The Perrin short shift is amazing! What is so cool about it is it's adjustable. You can make the throws very short if you want. I have mine about as short as you can go and it feels awesome.
Quality is very good, typical Perrin. Comes with great instructions and you can even call them if you need technical help. Personally the B&M is just slightly shorter. With the Perrin you can have really short throws which is pretty cool imo. The install is a tiny bit more work but it is still easy and totally worth it.
My 2cents worth.

I have the perrine its great the throw is short and you can use your threaded shift knobe. Great quality, but with all short throws you will need to shave part of the cradle. Get involved with someone who has a clue and a good steady hand with a dremel and file. Oh yea got the metal bushings also from lancer shop its a must.

I have the Kartboy SS with Lancershop metal bushings. I also just ordered the new underhood bushing kit from lancershop. I can post a writeup when I get it all installed.
The thing to know about the OEM shifter is that the top cup WILL NOT come off. You will either have to cut it and buy a new one, or take a hacksaw to your OEM shifter to get it off. No way around that.

For those who don't want to follow my link:
In order to reuse #7 you'd have to cut the shift lever some somewhere below the weight (red) . Or just buy another #7 and leave the stock shift lever and retainer alone. I removed the weight by cutting out the spot weld with my trusty rotary tool. This way I still have my stock lever (minus the weight) and I didn't have to buy an extra lever retainer.
